We last left you back in the depths of winter, which passed by without much snow, though we did have plenty of bitterly cold days. In that time, we added new windows to the house, traveled to Las Vegas and Vermont, and got to witness a former business associate (who shares a name with a well known ice cream franchise) go through the bankruptcy process.
I’m sorry also to report that our daughter did not make the kindergarten cut this year. She missed the default deadline by only three weeks, but our boro will test the child to see if she might be ready for the “vigors of kindergarten.” Sadly, she did not, despite having ample academic ability because her examiner determined that she had trouble focusing on the tasks at hand. So, we’ll be paying for another year of day care on top of the ridiculous property taxes that fund the school she will not attend.
We have survived a full six months without cable, and though Louise tends to bitch about the complexity of our new computer-aided media set-up, I’m plenty pleased. I’ve yet to find a solution to the viewing Phillies games over the internet, but it hasn’t been for lack of trying.
